The product does what it is supposed to do. This cradle is stylish and gets the job done.Look for a listing that has the ac adapter included.Since Sony no longer manufactures CLIE products the price will fluctuate based on supply and demand. This is not the fault of Amazon or the product.
This product is just very poorly put together and only has one function, unlike the Belkin. First of all, it is not worth this amount and Secondly it can be purchased brand new from Office Depot for 29.95. I can usually depend on Amazon to have great, competiive prices on just about anything that I am looking for, but not this time. This item is listed at 69.95 Refurbished.
After I saw this Belkin product, I bought one promptly. So, if you are on travel, you need to bring another clumsy power adapter. However, Belkin provided a type of USB Sync and charger which has the fuction to charge your PDA from the USB ports. After I got the Belkin USB Syn and Charger, the Sony USB is sleeping in my drawer now, Collecting Dust. This cradle is designed very simply (as a previuos reviewer said)., perhaps not deserving $30. However, for such an expensive and simply designed cradle, Sony does not even give the customer power supply function from USB port.
It seems to do the job, but come on. You are kidding right. $55 bucks for a cradle with an AC power cord is rediculous.
If you have a desktop then this is eaiser then the adapter that comes with the TJ25. If you travel, you either have to purchase another power adapter or remember to pull the power cord.Hmmm no wonder Sony offers a cheaper model. This is a very simple cradle that you need for your PC. HOWEVER, you have to use the power supply to power the Clie. You have to purchase extra stuff.Currently it is the only thing I found for a TJ25. It is simple in design. Not like the palm cradles I have used in the past.Insertion and removal seems easy.
